Interpersonal/Communication
Coaching
Miscommunication among employees
or co-workers can lead to many
problems. For example, misunderstandings can lead to feelings of
frustration, anger and resentment. Individuals may feel that
they’re not being heard. Or projects may be delayed or not
completed at all, as a result of miscommunication. If this continues,
it ultimately creates a negative environment in which productivity and
goodwill rapidly deteriorate.
Communication
that is not based on mutual respect and
thoughtfulness can be very costly to those involved.
Plus, changing the way we communicate can be difficult.
However, taking a different approach to challenging situations can open
up countless possibilities. By pinpointing specific issues, LCS
consultants can help you recognize unproductive communication tactics
and develop a more constructive approach in a relatively short amount
of time.
Program
Outline
1.Individual
consultation:
For those in the Los Angeles area, the first step is to visit the LCS
office for a two-hour session. For those outside of the Los Angeles
area, this consultation may be conducted by phone. It is also possible
to arrange for one-on-one meetings at the organization’s
location.
The
purpose of this consultation is to identify the primary areas of
focus for the individual. As an independent exercise to be completed
before the next meeting, the LCS consultant will also highlight items
for the individual to reflect upon as he/she considers his/her
interactions with others.
2.Workstyle
assessment
profile:
The next step is to take the workstyle assessment
profile. This assessment is comprised of 185 multiple-choice questions
and can conveniently be taken on the individual’s home or
work computer.
The
detailed report examines problem solving skills, interpersonal and
stress patterns, leadership roles, career matches based on
one’s traits, and thought patterns when interacting with
others, and traits that are unique to each of us. LCS also provides a
list of questions to
identify strengths as well as ideas for personal growth.
3.1st
follow-up meeting: This
follow-up meeting takes place two to three weeks after completion of
the workstyle assessment. During this two to three-hour session, we
will review the profile with the individual and discuss the independent
assignment. At the end of this session, additional exercises
will be assigned to further test additional ideas that might come up
during the workday.
4.Subsequent
follow-up
meeting(s):
Another follow-up meeting takes place three to
four weeks later, either in-person or via telephone for those out of
the area. The purpose of this meeting is to touch base to see how
things are going and for additional role-playing of specific
situations. Depending on progress, additional follow-up sessions may be
scheduled every three to six weeks as needed.

his/her innermost dreams and desires, while moving into another stage
in life. LCS consultants can help put the individual on the path to
